US, May 12, 2010

by David McCutcheon

Get the Squad together, it's Marvel time.

We've long been reporting all of the agreements and negotiations between the legendary comic giant, Marvel Animation, and television and cult classic specialists Shout! Factory, and we've got the exclusive scoop on their first foray into the Marvel material with The Super Hero Squad Show: Quest For The Infinity Sword! - Volume 1, which will officially launch on July 13, 2010 for the MSRP of $14.93.

The most impressive thing about this Marvel release is the voice talent listed, including Mr. Show alum and Spongebob himself, Tom Kenny, as Iron Man, Captain America and M.O.D.A.K., A Nightmare on Elm Street's Robert Englund as Dormammu, Mark Hamill as the Red Skull, Taye Diggs as the Black Panther, LeVar Burton as War Machine's James Rhodes, and many others including Cheryl Hines, Tricia Helfer, Wayne Knight, James Marsters, George Takei, and Hercules' Kevin Sorbo. What an insane casting job.

The opening volume will feature the first six episodes from the first season of this popular action-packed animated series and special bonus features including a new interview with Stan Lee, Hero & Villain character profiles and a sneak peek at Quest For The Infinity Sword! - Volume 2 on DVD.
